Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy jittery video

  • Posted by Carlton Hathcoat on July 9, 2009 at 5:29 pm

I am capturing Beta footage but when I play the clip back in the browser the video is a little jittery, almost looks like there’s a strobe effect on the video. Anyone have any ideas? I have never had this happen before. Isn’t noticeable on static shots but looks bad on zooms and pans.

    thanks!

How did you capture the footage? Capture card?
Where is the footage stored? Drive type?
What format did you capture the footage as? Codec?

Did you have DROPPED FRAMES WARNING turned off? This should always be on.

Beta is interlaced. You may have an error in field order, but you need to monitor on an external interlaced screen to accurately tell what is going on. The browser is not a good way to judge issues like field errors.

Field order issues are very common and a quick search of the forum will show that this has been well covered.
