Jittery Dissolves in 24p
I’ve been editing on a 24p sequence with footage shot on the SDX900 (DV50 codec). For some reason, the dissolves all seem to become jittery after awhile. Generally, they’re smooth when I first cut them into a sequence, but after working on other sequences, or whatever, they usually tend to skip somehwat. One workaround I’ve found is to disable, then enable all of the offending clips. It works for the immediate minutes after I’ve tried it, but generally the jitters come back.
I’m wondering if this is a drive issue — using firewire LaCie’s — as in maybe the drive/system is having problems pulling the footage fast enough from the drives and threading it together properly. I also have my sequences set to unlimited RT.
Or is this an issue inherent to 24p?
I’ve also tried exporting the sequences, and they still appear to have jumpy dissolves. Any ideas?
thanks.
