Jitter on animated stills
Hello,
I add many pictures w/ high res on the timeline in FCE and I set the properties on the first of those to generate an Ken Burns effect and then I copy the attributes to the other pictures what I do get is a jitter after rendering those pictures ! By jittering I mean that while zooming out the picture doesn’t zoom smoothly but jitters between pixels while zooming. This is not only annoying but unacceptable in the movie.
Does anybody know where this comes from and how to avoid it?
I am using FCE 3.51 on an iMac G5 2.1 w/ OS X 10.4.9

There are a lot of things that can cause jittering. Some common ones are:
– Moving too fast on a image
– Photos being too sharp (I often take photos into photoshop to blur parts that jitter)
– Stripped designs on buildings or clothingI don’t like to do a lot of motion for photos in Final Cut. I’d use Motion or After Effects if I could. But you can be successful with it in FCE or FCP.

thanks a lot. I will try Motion next time. I ordered the FCS2 🙂 But anyway – I need to solve the issue now on the current project and I only have FCE at the moment.

I searched the web for this same problem with moving photo stills in FCP6. I discovered a solution that worked for me. Double click on the photo in the sequence or in the browser, in the viewer window click on the Motion tab, the last option is the Time Remap,click on the arrow and uncheck the Frame Blending. That should take care of the Jitters,Shakes. Hope this helps
