Japanese Hiragana and Katakana renders as MS UI Gothic with Credits Video Media Generator
Posted by Tae Ung on November 8, 2009 at 10:40 amhi you tried to use Credits Media Generator to get Hiragana Unicode (e.g. さのてれらですじ etc.) and when you double click it the Hiragana is now MS UI Gothic and if you get the fullwidth ASCII letters (e.g. ABCDEFGHIJabcdefghij etc.) the fullwidth ascii letters are now Gulim.

November 8, 2009 at 3:00 pmI can’t say that all double-byte fonts will work, but I can assure you at least some do.
(1) Which text generator are you using?
I know you were trying the Pro Titler thing, I can’t say anything about that, because I don’t use it, but the basic titler in Vegas works, even the legacy one from long ago.
(2) Name some fonts you are trying. I will try them out on my machine and let you know.
Here’s an example on my machine that is working fine (Chinese font SimSun):

November 8, 2009 at 11:57 pmHi where can you get Windows Vista versions of Times New Roman and Courier New for free?

November 9, 2009 at 4:16 amOnce again, fonts are NOT specific to an operating system.
Find them on someone else’s computer, copy and install them to yours.
It really is that simple. -

November 9, 2009 at 6:55 amHi you have an Vista virtual machine which has the latest fonts of Courier New (not the UCS font, but Everson Mono) and Times New Roman.
Mike Kujbida should copy the TTF font files from C:\WINDOWS\Fonts and get them on an command.

November 9, 2009 at 12:12 pmPut the TTF files in a folder somewhere on your new computer or even on a jump drive that’s plugged into it.
On your new computer, browse to C:\WINDOWS\Fonts, go File – Install New Font and follow the prompts. -
