Jaggy videos
I have issues with AE CS4 and exporting 25p footage from my HF100.
Theres no problem with watching the raw MTS material. But when I export it from AE or Premiere, I always get a jaggy video after the first seconds for about 10 secs. After that the video runs fine, but on the end it gets jaggy again for about 10 secs. With “jaggy” I mean it switches frames eg 1 frame forward 2 frames backward. It makes no difference in which format I export, it also even happens when I convert the raw files to another format. I’ve tried exporting it directly from AE as well as with Media Encoder. I’ve also tried to set in “Interpred footage” > “Fields and Pulldown” everything to off as the footage is progressive. Didn’t help at all, I’m going to get nuts soon 🙂If somebody has an approach plz post it.

It’s AVCHD footage which is basically H.264.
Which codec would you propose to convert it to? -

Thanks again – reconverting to lossless worked like a charm. But after testing a lot I found another solution, which I wanted to post if anybody faces the same problem.
It seems After Effects has problems with certain bitrates in AVCHD. When I used a shot recorded at full bitrate (17 mbps), everything went fine. The problem seems to occur only with footage recorded in “standard play” (7 mbps).
