It is Options -> Preferences -> General -> the fourth item from the top. Vegas 12 describes it as “Close media files when not the active application”.

I’m having a difficult with RX. It will not save any changes I make when using “open copy in editor”
I’ve been emailing tec support but they can’t figure it out either.
