    Hi there,

Im running AE 6.5 Pro on Windows xp Pro.

The problem is that After Effects crashes everytime I try to render a quicktime movie, (I use Avid dv codec).

It works fine if I use another format like windows for media, but it just seems not to like the quiktime movie?? I did reinstall the software but to no avail, sigh!

any suggestions would be really appreciated,

    many thanks,

    alfredo

Ensure that you have the latest QuickTime and the Avid DV CODEC installed. Also, try rendering to another QT CODEC to see if this will work. If all else fails and time is an issue, then use the QT DV CODEC. ANd if that also fails, then use TGA sequences. They play fine on NLEs.

I’ll second the above… when you’re having difficulty, render to a compatible image sequence (you may want to ask the person who’s going to receive the file)… Just as AE will load it right up, so will most NLE programs, and I’ve never had a TV station complain at all (I usually give them several formats though, so no matter what I’m covered)

    Good Luck!
