    Hi,
im trying to edit a commercial onto digi for broadcast. TC needs to start at 10:00:00:00 so i have to use edit to tape. the problem is with the sound. Im using an old blackmagic card that has only embedded audio over SDI, no dedicated AES/EBU or ANA outputs. when i send a tone signal to the deck it clips intermittently, as does the tone at the start of the commercial, however once i get to the commercial no audio at all is being recorded (although when i jog back or forwards it sounds like its on there). it looks like its only recording the audio because its a generated signal from fcp. it wont record anything in the timeline. also when i paly back the recorded digi the VITC tc flashes randomly and the channel condition peaks randomly as well.
ive tried changing the settings for audio output (bit depth, amount of channels, whether they are stereo downmixed, grouped or discreet, im trying to eliminate all possibilities but since i can print to video no problem i am thinking it must be some kind of bug in the steps fcp goes through behind the scenes when editing to tape? any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated.

    regards

    Chris
