    Hey everybody,

I’m working in FCPX with some footage where I’m aiming to key out both a white background and a blue floor so I can place a background image behind the talent. Trouble is, that’s two different colors, one of which is white and thus not awesome for pulling a key, plus there are shadows on the background as the talent moves around (I didn’t shoot the footage).

Here’s where I’m stuck: I’ve got a working key for the blue floor, but when I set up the key for the white background I get a persistent border that I can’t get rid of. When I use a “sample color” box over the border it selects too much of the color spectrum and the entire scene is keyed out.

Any ideas for how to take care of this in a video workflow? I could obviously export to Photoshop and do a batch edit there, but I’ve got hours of footage to work with so I’d like to find a solution in FCP/Motion/AE if possible.

Images attached showing the original, matte, and current status of the key.

    Thanks so much in advance.

Maybe try a Luma Key instead of a chroma key?
