    Hi,

The project is 720p25 using the BlackMagic preset 720p25 Varicam 10 bit.
Our tapes are mostly shot as 72025/60, with one tape that has been shot 720p50/60.
I have got the 1200A deck set-up fine, and have been able to capture 6 tapes of the 720p25/60 without any problems.

    Then I get to the 720p50/60 tape……

Because I am betting that the timecode is going to be stuffed anyway, I am doing this as capture now.

Ok, now the issue. I have 5 minutes of Varicam 720p50/60 to capture.

I hit the capture now button, and capture the 5 minutes. I stop the capture at the end of the 5 minute capture. The system has captured 5 minutes of footage, but when I play back the footage, it appears to have only captured the first 2.5 minutes of footage @ 50fps which then plays back as 5 minutes of footage @25fps even though I watched the system capture the whole 5 minutes @ 50fps.

The way I ended up getting around it was sticking the tape back in the camera, and recording another 5 minutes of bars @ 50fps at the end of the tape, capturing the whole 10 minutes @50fps, with the understanding that it was going to dump the other 5 minutes at the end of the capture. This got me going with this tape, but the camera is out on location again today and tomorrow, and I am expecting at least another 3 full tapes of 50fps before the shoot is done.

Sooooo, has anyone else encountered this before? Is there some way to avoid this? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Alister
