I’m trying to save a project to transfer it to our render server. Problem is C4D either doesn’t save all my materials. Or if it does, was transfered over to be rendered then the server can’t find certain textures. Everything was fine yesterday. Today, disaster. I’m hoping I don’t have to re-install C4D, but I’m looking at that as my next step.

Make sure you set your texture paths properly in the preferences, both on your workstation and on the server. In addition to that, you can have a “tex” folder within every project folder or store your textures in the main directory. C4D will look up those automatically.

Thanks for the response. In the past if I did “Save Project” it would create a new folder with a copy of the project and a tex folder with all my materials. Now I’m only a tex folder with some of my materials (seems to randomly choose which ones) and often I don’t even get the copy of the project. I’ll check my paths, but I think there’s still issues somewhere. I did re-install everything on my machine, but it doen’t seem to have helped.

Thanks to a co-worker’s help we found the problem. The videos I was using for some of my materials were way too big. I recompressed them to about 300mb each (they were 2Gb) and everything is peachy. Thr projects now saves correctly and is rendering away.

Glad you could fix it. Wouldn’t have thought that this still is a problem.
