I’m trying to render an image sequence from some footage I shot in order to bring into Maya as reference. For whatever reason, whenever I render I get an error message that says the file path is not valid. I rendered it out once but for whatever reason the images disappeared. I’m slightly worried it’s something with my hard drive and not with AE, but has anyone encountered this and if so do you have any suggestions on how to fix it?

It sounds like the file path has changed somehow. Did you maybe rename or move a folder or something? Try creating a new folder and render to that location instead.

What is the exact path and file name that you’re trying to use? What version of After Effects?
