  • Issues importing .SWFs with Movie Clip symbols.

    Hi,

I am working with SWFs in After Effects CS3.

The Flash animation has frame-by-frame animated movie clip symbols inside, and has alpha and blur applied. Once the SWFs are imported into AE, the initial timeline all plays fine but the animation in the movie clips itself do not play, but show the first frame only, much like the same as when exporting as AVI video.

All I can think of is to export the animation from the movie clips as their own SWF and apply the blur and alpha to that? Long way round though!

Is there anything we can do to overcome this? A word of advice or a link to a similar thread would be appreciated. Deadlines!

    Many thanks,
    Callum.

to OP, late response, but try changing the movie clips in the main timeline into graphic symbols, paying attention to the looping settings in the properties inspector
