Issue with Overlay Effect
I am working with a template that someone else made. Basically there is a shape layer that has an overlay effect and a photo in the background. When I turn off the layer with the photo, the overlay goes away. The shape layer then appears fully solid. I feel like this is such a simple thing and I cannot figure this out. Thank you!

Would you be able to better state what you are trying to solve? The blending modes in ae behaves the same way as those in photoshop. So I don’t know what’s your question or issue.
