    I am brand spanking new to final cut, and was trying to play with clips I added to the viewer. I think I changed a setting or something, because now when I insert clips into the viewer, the viewer only shows some box on it with diagonal lines across it, making it look like an envelope. You can move the envelope around, but what you can’t do is see the clip you added to the viewer. Anyone have an idea?

    you have it to display Wireframe and not image or image+wireframe, or if the screen is white the color is set to alpha instead of RGB. Both are changed with the button on the top (right) or hitting w.

    If you are new I high recommend you get the Apple Certified Pro Training for FCP (book). Spending about 12 hours with that book with make learning so much faster.

    How thanks, that worked. Do you have a link to the precise book? There are like 15 FCP training books that have similar titles.

    Not a bad idea, to get some formal training.

    This is the link to the official Peachpit Press book.

    Also, you can take a class at an Apple Training Center, the amount of knowledge that comes from a 3 day
    class is amazing.
