  • Issue with footage shifting in timeline when opening same project in Mac and then PC

Posted by Katula Nicole on January 12, 2019 at 9:28 pm

    Hello!

First time poster, and could really use some help.

When I create/edit a project in Premiere on my Mac laptop, and then open the same project in premiere on my PC desktop computer, the footage within the sequence shifts forward in the timeline, and the beginning of the clip in the sequence is greyed out / blank.

This only happens with .MXF and .MP4 files… .MOV and .M2ts clips don’t shift in the timeline.

Premiere is the same version on both computers.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the response. The footage was mainly shot on Sony cameras (FS5 and A7sii).

Sorry for the lack of clarity – there was NO phone footage in the project.

The same issue happened with a previous project – again no phone footage, only .MXF and .MP4 footage from Sony cameras.

Here’s a photo to demonstrate what happens:

I was having the exact same issue and think I just found the answer. Adobe was aware of this an has supposedly fixed it in Premiere 13.0.3, so maybe just an update will do the trick. More info here and other tips on how to fix the problem:
