ISIS storage conundrum
OK –
We have an AVID ISIS network, linking several Adrenaline and Mojo systems in a broadcast news environment. We also have several seats of Adobe Creative Suite CS3, which we would like to talk to the ISIS storage directly. At this point in time, we create motion graphics and other elements in the Adobe product line, then we have to place them in interim storage (off of the AVID system, but network accessible). The editor(s) then must import the elements into the AVID system, essentially doubling the amount of storage used in the facility, and making the process more complex.
Has anyone discovered a way to access directly, through Interplay, or not, the ISIS mass storage, which seems to only work with AVID products? I’ve read that there’s a product for Interplay called Access, which allows this, but I have yet to see a practical workflow shown – it seems to be theoretical at this point. The AVID workflow charts show things like Quantels and other third-party boxes as part of the workflow, but who is using it, and how? Thanks.
