wondering if this is the right way to export a HDV 16 X 9 timeline to make a widescreen SD DVD. I’ve done a couple but the DVD has black on top and bottom on my widescreen TV and don’t know if that is right or not. When I go from the computer to the TV it fills the whole screen.
This is the settings I used.
    export settings
    deinterlace
    source 1440w X 1080 h
output 720w X 480 h (this is the one that doesn’t seem right but can’t change it)
    preset NTSC MPEG-2 Generic
Field order lower 29.97 non-drop frame
Pixel Aspect Ratio widescreen 16:9 (1,2)
The DVD plays and looks fine but it doesn’t fill the 16 X 9 screen.
    Am I doing this right.

[BruceR] “output 720w X 480 h (this is the one that doesn’t seem right but can’t change it)”
720×480 is the SD pixel format for both 4:3 and 16:9, the difference is in the pixel aspect ratio, .89 for 4:3 and 1.2 for 16.9

Check your DVD player settings, that could be causing your problem.
