Is there any way to change the program font sizes in Vegas 12?
Hi
I just upgraded to Sony Vegas 12 64 bit build 770, running on Win 7 64 bit; I also have Vegas 9 and 10 both 64 bit. I also recently got a new 23″ and 24″ monitor, larger than my previous ones. As a result I need to sit further back from the monitor, so I increased the Win 7 global font from 125 to 150%. The program fonts in Vegas 9 and 10 remained visible and fine. But in my new Vegas 12, some of the program fonts increased to an almost cartoonishly large size. For example the font on the top menu bar (File, Edit, View, Insert, etc) increased to where it is almost completely hidden & is now barely visible. The fonts on the docked tabs (Explorer, Trimmer, Transitions, Trimmer, etc) all remained visible and the same size as Veg 9 & 10. However when I click the Explorer tab the actual Explorer Folder menu and Folders are huge. Not so on Trimmer, Transitions or the others. The timeline remained a normal smaller visible size, but the status bar also became cartoonishly large. Is there any way to adjust the program font size?

Try reinstalling VP12. Having “partial’ font size correction maybe a result of the VP12 software not being updating itself in the Windows environment. But I’m guessing. Could you post a screengrab showing this anomaly?

Never, ever, never change the font size in Windows to anything other than 100%. I can tell you as a developer that the font system is severely broken in Windows. What you are experiencing is typical and no amount of re-installing is going to fix it. Just don’t do it. Run your monitor at a lower resolution or get glasses but don’t change your system font size. It will just mess everything up.

Now if you are needing optical correction, or you really should check this out, I have a perfect pair of glasses for my 32″ LG Screen. The screen is 30″ from the tip of my nose and I have a lower bifocal segment for reading handheld book text too.

My apologies for not responding back to any of the messages. I just realized that my profile was set to not send emails for new posts on the thread, so I assumed I had no replies. I just checked back in and changed that setting ….
Thanks for the response John. Well, the best option seems to be to set Win 7 at 100%, lower screen resolution down to 1366 x 768, and move slightly closer to the screen – for now. And it’s off to the optometrist. Time for new glasses – the step up to bifocals. Hung on till 50 yo before making this leap!
I appreciate all you guys getting back to me – John’s seems to be the best advice.
