    Hello,
Would appreciate it anyone knows if the extended storage (non use) of a camcorder creates any negative issues?
    Thank you

    Depends on the camcorder.

Certain Sony BetaCam camcorders experience(d) “capacitor rot” on the circuit boards. Very noticeable in the image and very expensive to have repaired.

But overall, there is no real detriment to not using a camcorder…

EXCEPT that it becomes obsolete (as they all do) with age.
And, since you’re not USING it, it tends to be a “useless waste of the technology” vs. the cost of buying it “too early”.
