Is there an Animoto type slideshow software that I can buy and download?
So I’m making a slideshow for the showroom. I could do something real nice in AE but it’s a very low profile project and just not worth doing manually. The images I’m going to use are all different sizes/dimensions.
I’ve sold the idea of an Animoto animation to the boss but he’s wondering if there’s an option of something to buy instead of paying the $40/month each time we want to do one of these. I really like the transitions on that default Animoto slideshow, and it’s perfect for this application. The different sizes/shapes of the photos I’m using make a regular Ken Burns/cross dissolve type transition impractical.
Just wondering if you guys have used something like what I’m looking for.

I looked at animoto and was not impressed at all

If you are on a Mac iPhoto can do some cool photo slideshows.

On Windows, Windows Live Gallery will allow you to create a slideshow with nice movement and dissolves, and then Share it, with a few different options:

This software is popular in the UK and France. Audiovisual enthusiasts use it for local competitions and AV festivals. PTE doesn’t have quick themes/templates, but you can create own animation using Objects editor with keyframe animation. -
