  • Is there a way to show a company logo on screen without rendering ?

I have a project that I need to superimpose a company logo in the lower right corner of the tv screen.

Is there a way to creat a still image that would not need to be rendered…. the program is about 1 hour long and I think if I create the logo as part of a title…. the entire program may need to be rendered ?

How can I make a still image in photoshop with a transarent background and just lay if in one of the video tracks without the need to render….is it possible ?

or is there a web site for making titles and things like this in Final Cut

    Thanks
    Joe

What needs to render is dependent on the version of the software you’re using and the computer you’re using.

For most computers a PS file with transparency will not need rendering for playback. Anything added like that will most likely need rendering to output however, either to tape or to export.

    All the best,

    Just to add-

We incorporate a ‘bug’ with all of our programs and it’s a 10-15min render for an hour. I use a pct file, not a PSD, so it’s not rendering a nested sequence like it would with a PSD. It may not make any difference in render time, but it’s a little cleaner. If you exporting to compressor, FCP doesn’t need to render anyway, it would just add to the render time.
Tom is correct-system, drives, and software will matter. Back in version 3.5, it was an hour render for the same thing that takes 15 now.
Aja’s new card has a live hardware HD/SD keyer for compositing bugs, so you can add it as you digitize-then it’s already part of the video.
