Is there a way to “paste attributes” to items in the browser?
Hi,
After applying some filters and drop shadow to a pshop image (lower third type thing) in the TIMELINE, I would like to “copy” and “paste attributes” to bunch of similar images that are in the BROWSER. When I try to do that, I only have the “paste” option available, not the “paste attributes”. Is there a way to do this?I know I can wait until all the images are in the timeline later and select them all and do it there, except then I have hunt for them all. I’d love to get them all prepped and ready to go in the browser in one shot.

That is because you do not apply the attributes in the browser. You do it in the timeline.
You can also apply the effects in Photoshop or Motion then bring them into FCP. It is easier to do in Motion.

I guess you could just quickly drop them all in a new timeline, paste the attributes to them, and then drag the clips from the timeline to the Browser. The new clips will now have the attributes.

Thanks. I thought of that and tried it. To my surprise, the attributes (drop shadow) DIDN’T go with them back into the browser!
It’s interesting that some things work like that (markers within a clip, for example), and some don’t.
I think the simplest solution is to just dedicate a video track in the timeline to those images (to make them easy to find later) and then just apply the attributes to them all at once (the old fashioned way) after all the editing is done! I guess I can’t be THAT lazy.Thanks for the input!
