Is there a way to change the default render setting for channels?
To render an alpha channel, I usually have to click the “RGB + Alpha” dropdown. I was wondering if there was a way to set this to the default as it can get very tedious after some time.

Yes, simply create a output module template.
edit->template->output module. set it as you wish, and set it as a movie default.
