Is there a way of doing Fast Import from HDV captured in FCP
Hi,
Due to problems with HDV capture I have decided to capture in FCP and then import into Avid. Ive kind of got this working but the import takes ages. Is there a way of setting up FCP and doing a Fast Import’ into Avid?. I an in PAL land.
Are there any settings in FCP I need to change?
Exactly What format and options do I need to set when importing?

BenPS I have fully explored the HDV capture into Avid but as I don’t have a proper deck this is not going to work (even with deck it would be problematic).

I don’t think this possible because the Apple HDV codec is different to the HDV codec used in Avid and fast import only works if the codecs match. In terms of capturing HDV into Avid I still don’t understand why you are having so much trouble with it. I have done it countless times using various cameras and decks.
