    Hello 🙂

still working with the book of Steve Wright, I still have the problem of the “missing math node” in Aftereffects.

Especially I cannot find something like a divide operation, that lets me divide the RGB chanels of one layer by another.

    And again I wonder:
Is there a way of REAL math oprations with expressions ?

    Can I do something like G-R*B ?!?
And also with chanels from different layers ?

In this case it’s the divide problem but I would like to know in general.

    Thanks for any idea!

Well… there is this plugin called Calculations. You can find it in the Channel section. It helps in some cases. And I believe there are others also.

What you need is pretty cool indeed. I myself was waiting for a functionality of getting RGB values of a given pixel. This functionality came with CS3, so I don’t know how do we have to wait for what you are asking for.

I’ll look into this. Sounds pretty useful and interesting, but I don’t think it is possible at this stage.

    Cheers
