  • Is there a USB port on the EX1r?

Posted by Tony Velez on June 8, 2010 at 3:53 pm

I just got the EX1r camera and inside the box sony has provided a grey USB 2.0 Cable, but yet i just looked all over the camera for a USB port on the EX1r and I do not see any USB port what so ever. Am I missing something here? Does the EX1r have a USB port on it so I can transfer my footage? Please don’t tell me sony has done this on purpose to force me into having to buy their Sony SxS Card Reader… If anyone can please confirm this for me I would appreciate it very much. Thanks.

Yes there’s a USB port hidden behind a door on the right under the swivel handle (although maybe they moved it for the EX1r). I suspect there would be a pic in the first few pages of the manual.

Haha, wow. They hid that very well because at first glance I never saw that at all. Thanks a lot. Appreciate it.

At least in the EX-1 (no “r”) there are two USB ports.
Right beside the normal USB port there is another one (hided) for maintenance.
