    Hi all

I have a model and on it is a flat circular plane (90 degrees) which has a logo on it. I need to texture the flat circular surface in a brushed metal and the logo (which is also flat and appears on the same plane) is a highly polished metal. Somewhat chrome like. But no matter what i do, in my renders, i can’t seem to make them look like metal. If there was some curvature to it, i guess it would work, but it needs to be flat.

I am using a white sweep and 3 lights for a clean studio look.

Is there a trick to this?

    Thanks a lot

metal only looks like what it’s reflecting, if your lights are not properly aligned to reflect into the camera you will only see the metal reflecting the pure black of the 3D environment unless you put something in the environment or use a texture in the reflection or environment channels in the metal material or use a texture on a sky or something like hdri studio.

Thanks Brian. That certainly is helping.
