I’ve nested some clips in a project in FCP 7. I see the nested clips’ sequences in the browser but sometimes I cant remember what larger sequence they are part of. Is there an easy way to find it or reveal it in the larger timeline it is a part of?

Double click on the nest and the underlying seq, will open.

David, what I actually want to do is the opposite, to look at the bested sequence in my browser and find out what sequences it is part of. Know how to do that?

[Noam Osband] “David, what I actually want to do is the opposite”

Ah ha, another Cow contrarian. 🙂

I hate to say it Noam, but I don’t think there’s any way of going in reverse in this case. This just one of many reasons I’m not a fan of nesting in FCP.

Though they don’t call it nesting, the concept does works better in FCP X, but I think it’s hardly a good enough reason for going in that direction unless your workflow demands those things that X really delivers.
