Is there a best format to edit with?
A very fond hello to you all. Cutting right to the chase, I have couple hours of AVCHD documentary style wedding footage shot with a Canon HFS100 camera, I am attempting to edit the footage natively in Premiere Pro CS5 in a multicam setup but playback is too choppy and previews take a long time to render. That said, can I convert the MTS’s into a common format that premiere can handle better and preferably loss-less? While doing some testing with adobe media encoder, I saw the way the presets are setup and it raises more questions then it answers. I have tried to search for the answer but the internet has failed me thus far. Im looking for video equivalent to TIFF or WAV. It seems according to the media encoder my options are mpeg 2 or lossless avi. What do you guys think?
