Is the round-tripping process in FC Studio 2 actually destructive editing?
Looking at all the tutorials I’ve seen for FCS 2, it seems that when one uses the ‘send to’ option in FCP 6, and sends a clip into Sountrack Pro2, Motion 3 or Color that the changes made actually CHANGE the source media, and not just any metadata, or how the source clips are rendered in FCP 6, which would actually make the round-tripping process in FCS 2 a form of destructive editing.
Is it accurate to say this?

No, not in the case of motion anyway. when you “round trip” to motion, Final Cut creates a sequence that contains the original unmodified “sent” media, and replaces that chunk of media in the sequence you are sending from with the .motn file that references any changes you’ve made in motion leaving the newly created sequence untouched.
If you want to revert back to the pre-motion clips, simply open the sequence that was created when you ‘sent’ the clips to motion,, and voila… untouched media.
