Is the Resolve GUI color managed? And let me clarify the question… I’m assuming the colors displayed within the Resolve GUI would be responding to the monitor profile I use (my Dells match REC709 exactly via i1Display).

So, if the GUI reflects my monitor profile – great! If not, what’s it doing… and why?

And yes I also understand the ideal setup is a calibrated external monitor (I have a Viera Plasma), but for quick non-critical grades, I would like to think my calibrated dells would be fine. And again, if not – this seems silly for a color application, doesn’t it?

    Thanks in advance,
    Lonnie

I have been told that the answer is “No.” On a Mac, the GUI screen is limited to 8bit colour by the operating system and the colour accurate data is going to your grading monitor, typically 10bit or better, via an SDI connection. Sorry I am not an authority on this topic but noticed your questioned had received no answer.
