I’ve not installed the V5 drivers as I’m still on Tiger. But there are some issues the new press release mentions that would help me. As well, I’ve read of recent problems with the V5 drivers and wonder if these new and improved ones are safe?

    Best to all,

I tried installing version 5.0 in Tiger, and it simply did not work form me (FCP crashed at startup). I was told that, in fact, 5.0 is Leopard only, despite AJA’s claim to the contrary. I will wait to here if that’s changed for 5.1 (they still say Tiger compatible). I do like the sound of “improved Edit to tape frame accuracy in all interlaced formats”, although I’ve not run across this issue.

Here’s the old thread for reference:
    https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/98/868388

But basically, after uninstsalling v 4 drivers, installing v5 drivers, and deleting prefs, Final Cut would crash on startup when it tried to load a Kona setup. Everytime. As you can see in the thread, I was told that it was not actually Tiger compatible. Any ideas?

AJA told me not to use version 5 with Tiger. They said stick with 4. Use v5 for Leopard.

I just spoke with AJA and apparently someone made a mistake. The v5 drivers are definitely Tiger compatible. i am running v5 on tiger on everything seems to be fine.

This is what tech support told me. They said if you are running Tiger stick to v4. I guess if depends on who you speak with.

    Jeremy,

I was using the ver 5 drivers with Tiger too without any issues. Of course now that I’m a bleeding edge user I’m running Leopard, also without issues…

Can you think back to what QT version you were running on Tiger?
