Is Premiere’s deinterlacing still better than Youtube’s?
A video will be uploaded to Youtube which was recorded in 480i, with little motion. AFAIK, Premiere deinterlaces video by simply removing half the lines. Does Youtube’s deinterlacing software also simply throw out half the lines, or is it more advanced? Since Youtube’s processing has changed over the years, one alternative I was contemplating is to upload the interlaced video now and hope that in five years, Youtube’s deinterlacing program will be better (like X or yadif). Is this realistic?
I was also considering outputting the interlaced video as pro res, and use Decomb in handbrake to deinterlace. However, I could not tell the difference in upload quality. I don’t have the option of virtualdub or avisynth. Thanks for any input.
