Is live capture to FCP X possible using Sony HVR-Z1U?
I’m trying to capture live to FCP X from my Sony HVR-Z1U.
It will capture from the camera’s VCR (tape) mode just fine, and I find the clip saved in the browser ready to edit. But when I switch the camera to record mode to show the live image, the image shows up in the capture window, but with a “camera not controllable” message in the dialogue box in the upper left corner of the same capture window. When I then click on import, a time counter replaces the “camera not controllable” message for a split second, then reverts to the same “camera not controllable” message. In the browser, I find a clip with a single frame.
I have tried the same procedure with a SONY HVR-Z7U, and with a Sony Handycam HDR-HC3, same results.
I have no problems at all when using FCP 7, but that’s not an option on this job.
Any advice or ideas will be most appreciated.
