You can either precompose the rain layer and apply a mask to the layer to confine the effect to the inside of the mask.

    Or:

Create a separate track matte that covers the area you want the effect in, by drawing a mask on a solid layer.

Place this layer on top of the rain layer.

Set the track matte of the rain layer to the masked solid.

Oh Baren if sounds so good! But.. I’m so noob on the program that I didn’t know anything of what you said. Do u think you have time to explain a little bit more how I should do all that with the maskes and layers?

ok, I dont understand the help. if I search “mask” I get about 30 threads in the F1 Help and none of them gives an EASY explinatioan of what it is or what do do or gives pectures with man exampels etc etc. wher can I get an easy guide that tells my thigns about this program. feels like it will take years to learn and that they have made the program to complcated. I learned vegas ideo in 2 days but I think it will take me a month to learn adobe afx…

Ok Now I’ve done this. I have my viedo-clip. I made a adjustmen layer. And then I precomposed (the first alternative). After that I dragget the precompsed “thing” to the timeline so I hade the video-clip and under
it the precomspes layerthing. Then a thought I should apply the rain effect to the new layer or what it is I’m will aplly it to?
But when I hade added the effect I couldnt see it. Even no other effect. When I removed the layer I could use effects again. WHY? What did I do wrong?
