Is it possible to target tracks based on a clip selection?
This is an old trick that I used to use in Avid and it made handling track selections so much faster — in Avid, when you selected the edit points of a clip using the edit tool, it would automatically target the appropriate tracks. I would do that all the time, rather than moving over to the track column and selecting and deselecting tracks as necessary, because that is so much slower.
In Premiere, since so much of the functions depend on which tracks are “targeted” I was wondering if there is a way, or a function, to have Premiere target the tracks of a clip selection. For example, if I’ve got 4 tracks of video and 20 tracks of audio, and I’ve got audio tracks 12 and 20 selected for whatever reason, but I’m about to do some work on audio tracks 1 and 2, it would be nice if I could just select the clip that lives on tracks 1 and 2 and hit a button to have Premiere target those 2 tracks and nothing else. Does anything like this exist?
Thanks!
