Is it possible to record live video with AE in the pipeline?
Okay so my question might be confusing, so let me clarify..
My current workflow is this:
1. Record myself speaking in front of a green screen.
2. Hook the camera to the computer, and import the video file.
3. Open it up in After Effects, get rid of green screen, do other adjustments..
4. Render the video.I would love to get rid of steps 2 and 3 if possible.
So my question is this: Is it possible to capture the video as I’m talking in front of the green screen directly to the computer, *while* also in real time, chroma key’ing the background out, and recording/saving the video to the HD.
If not, I’m just looking for ways to speed up my workflow..

well…depending on the quality of the key you need…that could be done in PPro very well in mnay cases…with much faster performance than you’d get in AE…
but i don’t really know anything about your content…so that’s a very general answer.
PPro or AE won’t capture and key in real time…
but PPro will key in real time from a file over a background.

Not with AE. There are some livestreaming software with that kind of functionality.
