  • Is it possible to deinterlace video with qt7pro & h.264?

Does the deinterlace check in clips properties affect only in playback or also when exporting dv compressed mov to h.264 mov?

I used to encode dv to 3ivx mp4’s with qt6 and there deinterlacing worked.
I’m not sure if deinterlace was done in exporting or just playbacking those mp4’s, but it worked.

Now with qt7 deinterlace setting in properties does nothing to h.264 clips.
Does qt7 think that h.264 is already progressive and that’s why it does not do deinterlace?
There’s no scan mode setting in h.264’s compression settings as there are in dv settings.

Well, how does it look? If need be you can deinterlace the video in FCP before you export to H.264…
