  • Is it possible to capture analog on a Extreme HD?

Posted by Derrick on May 20, 2008 at 6:27 pm

    Hi there,

I have a DeckLink Extreme HD (purchased in Dec ’07).

Do I have to have a SDI signal coming into the device, or is there a way to capture from composite signal? (RCA, i have a converter plug from RCA – to the connectors used on the card and breakout cable)

I want to capture some old family video tapes for a friend to write them to DVD?

    thanks for your help

Use the “Y” cable of the component input and hook that up to your VCR with proper adaptor. Then set your Decklink System preference pane to composite input.
