  • Is it possible to add or replace an audio or video track into a group?

Posted by Guido Passi on December 2, 2014 at 2:27 am

So, I have grouped 2 cameras and one audio track (recorded separately), created a sequence, spliced in the group and made some edits (not committed yet).

    Now, my needs are two:

    1. replace the audio track (the one I have is over modulated, the sound guy sent me the right copy just now)

    2. could I eventually add another video track to the group? Production did not give me clips of a third camera (gopro) they have used during interview.

So basically my point is: how can I get “in to” the group and make changes (like replacing, or adding a camera or just adjusting: let’s assume that I set the IN point of one clip 2 frames late an I want to reset it).

Thank you so much for your time and help.

Sorry…you’ll need to make a whole new group. Can’t add new video or audio to an existing group in Avid.

You can overcut the audio in a group but it won’t have a masterclip relationship, but that’ once you’ve cut it into a sequence I guess.
