  • Is it possible to add a new audio track to Multiclip?

    Hi Guys,

I have several two camera multiclips that have boom audio and now the producers want to use the lav audio which hasn’t been synced. The edit for the documentary has already been made so I was hoping to adjust the audio in the multiclips directly rather than start over and make new multiclips. I tried to put the multiclip in a new sequence, unlink the audio, put in a track of lav next to the mono boom track and relink the audio to video using command-L but the option is grayed out. I tried making them a stereo pair first but that didn’t work either.

Any suggestions or do I have to start from scratch and make new multi-clips. If that’s the case can I relink my edit to these new multiclips? it’s not exactly the same as relinking to a quicktime file outside of final cut on disk.

    Any suggestions much appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Oscar

Open the clip in the angle viewer, add a track, place the new audio, and sync it. Once it’s synced you can move it into the place of the boom so you don’t have to change tracks used in the sequence.
