    Hi there

Basically ive got one composition that is a 5 second scene, and then another scene which pulls out of a monitor and zooms out. the first scene needs to be a screensaver on the monitor.
so u see the first scene and then the camera pulls out and reveals its on a monitor.

so….i rendered out a low res version of the first scene and brough it into the monitor comp. ive played around with it using time remapping and scale to get it in the right place. so now if i render out a full high quality version and then use the alt option to replace the low res version it should take on most of its properties. i may have to scale it down more though.

so basically the video that is put on the monitor is about 15% scale…so is it loosing quality at all? can you think of a better way of doing this? i know i could bring the in the actually composition, which i tried, but this way ive explained was easier….but if its gonna compromise quality im not sure….

    cheers for any help!

Of course you’re going to lose something. 100% contains about 500×800 individual pixels, what is that? 400,000 pixels. 15% of that is about 50,000 pixels, so,umm, yeah, something has to give.

Scaling might not be your best option if you are motion tracking a scene like this.If you apply tracking in After Effects, you can use perspective controls. Dunno if Motion does that, never tried it.
