    My system
    Dual 2.5 G G5 w/ 4.5 gig RAM
    Decklink Extreme Card
    G-Raid 500gig usb800 drive

I am currently running OS 10.3.8 and Decklink v4.8
Software is FCP 4.5HD, Motion, Livetype & DVD Studio
    (The production suite)
I want to upgrade to the FCP Prod Suite 5, Tiger OS 10.4.1
    Decklink V5 drivers.

Can I expect any difficulty in install and is this stable?
When doing this, should I wipe the G5 clean, Format drives and start
from scratch? I am very new to an apple computer so I am concerned.
    Any help will be appeciated.

    Hi Ed,

You don’t need to erase anything prior to installation. Install Mac OS X 10.4 and then update to 10.4.1. Install the update to QuickTime 7.0.1 and then install FCP Studio. Finally install the latest DeckLink v5.0 drivers and all should be well.

If you have some critical work coming up, it is always a good policy to postpone the upgrades until you have some extra time should any technicalities arise.

    hello,
    Ok?, ….i’m not sure…
i’ve got a dl extreme, fcp studio, Tiger, and v5b2 drivers, and ….. a lot of no-end “color wheel” during editing, and i also can’t capture long clip as Paul Provost wrote.
so, fcp 5 or v5b2 driver problem ?
