August 24, 2005 at 11:25 amI think this is what you want:
hold down the alt key and click and drag right on the clip in the timeline to slide the video within the clip. You can also do this over the boundary between two clips to change how much of the total duration each one gets.Mary Waitrovich

August 24, 2005 at 4:10 pmi think this is also referred to as SLIPping .. the current clip in TL remains the same length but you want to change the frame it starts/ends on so you slip the shot to start a few/many frames later/earlier …

August 25, 2005 at 3:07 amNo no I know what a slip edit is. A roll edit is as follows…
you have clip a and clip b. You want to change the out point of clip a and the in point of clip b without changing the length of the project.
aaaaaaaaaabbbbbbbbbb (20 frames) aaaaabbbbbbbbbbbbbbb(20 frames as well)
anywho.. anyone who has used p.pro or fcp should know what I mean.

August 25, 2005 at 3:36 amHold Ctrl/Alt and place the cursor on the boundary between the clips. A double arrowed icon appears.
Now, as you drag, one clip will get longer whilst the other gets shorter, and the Out/In Frames are displayed as Split Screen.
