Is it hard to convert footage from 720p 60fps to 24fps?
I use an HMC-150 and am thinking of shooting a project that I want in 24fps. Sometimes I want to do slo-mo, so I was thinking of shooting the whole thing in 60fps, and for all the bits that are not slow-mo, just changing the video to 24fps. I want to do this as it will give me the option of perhaps going to 30fps for the project which is not what I want to do, but I do wonder how things will look with much of the 30fps archival footage I have.
My question: is it easy to go from 60fps to 24fps with FCP7?

If you want slow motion, use Cinema Tools to conform the 720p60 footage to 720p24, then import the conformed clips into FCP. Only do this on copies of the original clips, because it is a destructive process. Also, be aware that Cinema Tools can only conform source footage with intraframe codecs (DVCPRO HD, ProRes), not long-GOP interframe codecs (XDCAM EX, HDV, etc.).

It is quick and easy, but you can make a mistake pretty easily…so DUPLICATE the clip you want to convert to slow motion first. Well, convert to proRes first with Log and Transfer, then duplicate the clip, THEN conform with Cinema Tools.
