Is it better to shoot a film at 16-20fps or change it from 25 to 16-20fps in post to get that silent film look?
So I’m shooting a 10 minute short which is meant to pay homage to films of the silent era.
My question is this, is it better to shoot the film at 16-20 fps (using a 16mm Arriflex film camera, with 250 day stock) or is there a way to convert footage shot at 25 fps to a lower fps say 16-20 fps in FCP 7 so that I can get that jerky look of a silent film. Also baring in mind the above mentioned are there any issues that I should look out for if I am going to be projecting this project with an SD projector that projects at 25fps?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
