July 8, 2007 at 11:29 pmI don’t see a hidden triangle dropdown with these options on my home Xpress Pro. I will look for it on my Xpress at work.
Thanks,

July 9, 2007 at 4:04 amOkay, open the Color Correction Toolset. Each of the three monitors has a title, eg. “Current” or “Reference” that shows what it displays.
Click on the title of the monitor where you want to see your scopes, and you’ll get a list of what you can display. Choose whatever you want…

July 9, 2007 at 5:47 pmGot it! Thank goodness, I thought I was becoming a vegetable! I was looking in the wrong place entirely. Mine only display on still frames, not with moving picture. Is that how it goes? I see why you need external scopes.

Unfortunately, yes. I don’t know if there’s an NLE out there that displays scopes live while you play and that are accurate. Even with the broadcast safe limiter it’s best to use external scopes, in case there’s a bug in the software or something just slips through.

FCP 5.1 and up display live scopes that sample full raster (provided your CPU is fast enough)..they are pretty accurate, though I wouldnt throw out your outboard scopes.
