  • Is avi-format hard to import?

    Hi.
When I import mpeg-files to Premiere they appear faster, much faster then avi-files. I tried to import several avi-files with sizes of between 200 and 340 Mb, but after 1 hour waiting I canseled importing dialog because it seemed to be hung up. Mpeg-files of even bigger sizes were easy to import. Why? Or how to solve this problem?
    Thank you.

AVI is basically a container. It can hold all sorts of audio and video codecs. It’s likely the codecs that are the issue.
I recommend you try using Gspot to identify the codecs of any given movie file…

I always default to decompressing movie files if there are any import issues. I use AVS Video Converter…
