    IRE Settings?

    Hi Folks,

    We shoot in HDV, edit in either HD or SD on our Media100HDs, and output in SD only (for now).

    How should we set black levels on the various equipment through the pipeline? Should we have 0 on the cameras, decks and Media100HD in and 7.5 Media100HD out?

    We always shoot 0 IRE when camera supports it. This way you have more dynamic range in our shots.

    And when you mix HD and SD it is more similar.

    But when we output, always scope and correct before printing to NTSC tape, to make sure you are legal, it is really easy with m100.
